Acrylic (Plexiglass)

Characteristics:

  • Fragile and prone to chipping or cracking.
  • Scratches easily and can discolor from sunlight.
  • Suitable for temporary fixes where minimal mechanical properties are needed.
  • Available in various colors and thicknesses.
  • Lighter than glass.

Available Thicknesses:

  • 100″
  • 1/8″
  • 1/4″

Polycarbonate (Lexan)

Characteristics:

  • Highly impact-resistant with minimal chipping or cracking.
  • More expensive than acrylic, ideal for permanent repairs.
  • Commonly used in industrial applications requiring mechanical properties.
  • Available in limited colors and thicknesses.
  • Can discolor from sunlight.
  • Certain thicknesses can be used for bullet-resistant applications.

Available Thicknesses:

  • 1/8″
  • 1/4″
  • Other thicknesses can be brought in by special order.
